Ethics meets nature
Sustainability and social responsibility form the foundation of our products.
At MILLWA, treating nature with respect is our top priority. This applies unreservedly to our fur products as well. We guarantee that our collection uses only fur from animals that have died of natural causes or were raised for meat production. We strictly reject any other form of sourcing.
A Cycle of Appreciation
Alpacas live largely in the wild in their natural habitat in the Peruvian Andes. Climate change is leading to an increase in extreme weather events such as severe frost and heavy snowfall. For the simple farming families in Peru, who often live in harsh conditions, the loss of an animal due to these environmental factors poses an existential threat, as the income from selling wool is lost for years.
In the past, these animals were burned – today they are part of a valuable initiative:
- Economic support: By purchasing the skins, the financial loss suffered by the farmers is mitigated, often enabling them to buy a new animal for their herd.
- Sustainable use: Instead of leaving a precious resource unused, it is transformed into sustainable products such as shoes, blankets, cushions and our popular stuffed animals.
